Keep Going

Keep Going

Hey everyone, Annie here—happy January 15, 2026! If you've been following along, you know I posted about Quitters Day a few days back (that sneaky second Friday when so many resolutions hit the wall).

But today feels different. We're solidly into the second half of the month, the initial hype has settled, and the real test of commitment begins. Motivation might not be knocking anymore, but discipline is. This isn't about starting over—it's about showing up when it counts.

So let's make today our "Keep Going Day"—a moment to reassess, recommit, and build momentum for the long haul. Here's why mid-January (especially today) is the perfect pivot point, plus fresh ideas to carry your 2026 goals forward.

Why January 15 Hits Different

I woke up today with a later-than-usual hot yoga class on the schedule—9am instead of my usual 7:30. As I was lazily sitting in bed, watching the fog on the lake and feeling the pull of the cozy blankets, that little voice started whispering: "Maybe skip yoga today. Just do a brisk walk later... even though it's supposed to be freezing all day." The clock kept ticking, the decision point creeping closer. With only 5 minutes to be early and snag my favorite spot (or 10 to make it on time, risking someone else claiming it), I had a moment of truth.

I grabbed my swimsuit first and headed outside and did my quick 3-minute cold plunge in the 45 degree water. That shock of cold water hit like a reset button. It cleared the fog, sharpened my focus, and suddenly the idea of stepping into a heated studio felt like the best reward imaginable. Decision made: I went. And wow, am I glad I did.

That small ritual turned the morning around. The cold plunge gave me the jolt I needed to push past the inertia, and the hot yoga delivered exactly what my body craved on a winter day like this—deep warmth, loosened muscles, and that post-class glow that makes the cold outside feel bearable.

It's mid-January, resolutions are being tested, and days like today remind me why we keep showing up. The warmth of the practice, the clarity from the cold, the quiet victory of choosing movement over comfort—it's all part of building that discipline muscle we talked about earlier.

So, what's your morning win today? Did you push through a similar moment? Whether it's yoga, a walk, or just getting out of bed, you're doing great.

Keep the momentum, bundle up, and remember: You've got this, even on the cold ones.

I'm glad you are here!

xoxo, Annie
